In the Navy in 1950 my “buddies” told me to drink it or skip the coffee break.Naive, I believed them but needed four teaspoons of sugar to make it drinkable.Several months ago read of cold-brew in…Continue

I always sniff milk before pouring.

For breakfast this morning, I had rice krispies (Aldi brand) with my first red raspberries of the season. Trouble was, my milk had soured. Pretty gross tasty until I added sugar. Better, but I still have that sour taste in my mouth 30 minutes later. Ugh.

Milk soured because it's been very hot--90's. I'm taking my walk immediately after I type this. My dog (Dot) will go with me uninvited, and will probably overheat. Fortunately, there are water stops on the route.

Have a nice weekend--and Fathers Day!

Poppy seeds do show up in a more traditional dessert, lemon poppyseed cake. That combination with peanut butter and vanilla ice cream sounds like it's worth trying!

Candy makers bury peanuts in chocolate bars, Randall. And in pb’s place I may use strawberry something. Oh, the possibilities.

Well, I like peanut butter, and I like ice cream, so why not try it?! Vanilla, I assume?

It seems to me to be a treat fit for an adventure such as Ian's recently! Lots of taste, color, temperature, pleasure!

Do you like peanut butter ice cream?

If so, and you don’t have any, spread some peanut butter on a poppy seed bagel and layer it with vanilla ice cream.

Is it creativity or insanity? Whichever, uzitor loozit.

I stayed behind while the family goes off to clear out my home. We had a terrible rain storm yesterday and unsettled weather today. I am worn out.

My latest coffee purchases have been Seattle's Best #4. I find I need to change brands sometimes.

Good morning all. It's a stormy morning, but I'm not complaining. We need the rain.

My 8 year old grandson spent the night with me. He plays well with or without me. And he's glad he doesn't have to go to church with his grandmother (my ex). I have a feeling he's going to become an atheist like his grandfather! I'd love that.

He had cereal. I fixed an egg and strawberries, plus coffee. Doesn't look like I'm going to get in my daily walk. I need a break anyway.  Enjoy your day, wherever you are.
