Good Sunday morning all. Chilly start to the day--cool enough (50's) to make hot oat meal for breakfast.

Watching a pair of bluebirds chasing off a squirrel. It's fun noting the antics of wildlife around my place.

Randy, what a great idea! I used to make beer and wine; not successfully, however!

Oh! for a raspberry picked off the cane! Michelle and I plan to go into the house in Spokane and get some raspberry roots; also, rhubarb, yew, sedum 'Autumn Joy', and some lilac roots. It is the wrong time of year and nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Looks like a gorgeous day--weather wise. Of course, at my age every day is gorgeous!

To go with my coffee, I had raspberry (black) pancakes this morning with pecans tossed in.

With an overabundance of red raspberries, I made short of two gallons of wine yesterday. I cap the bottles with balloons, and it pleasures me so see them expand. I know the yeast is (are?) doing its job. Who knows how it'll come out, taste-wise. Past results have been mixed.

For breakfast this morning, I had rice krispies (Aldi brand) with my first red raspberries of the season. Trouble was, my milk had soured. Pretty gross tasty until I added sugar. Better, but I still have that sour taste in my mouth 30 minutes later. Ugh. 

Milk soured because it's been very hot--90's. I'm taking my walk immediately after I type this. My dog (Dot) will go with me uninvited, and will probably overheat. Fortunately, there are water stops on the route.

Poppy seeds do show up in a more traditional dessert, lemon poppyseed cake. That combination with peanut butter and vanilla ice cream sounds like it's worth trying!

Candy makers bury peanuts in chocolate bars, Randall. And in pb’s place I may use strawberry something. Oh, the possibilities.

It seems to me to be a treat fit for an adventure such as Ian's recently! Lots of taste, color, temperature, pleasure!
