In the Navy in 1950 my “buddies” told me to drink it or skip the coffee break.Naive, I believed them but needed four teaspoons of sugar to make it drinkable.Several months ago read of cold-brew in…Continue

Patricia, with your need for surgery and Rick just getting through one, do you have someone who can help you?

Since smoke is everywhere, we'd have no place to go anywhere nearby. I am however thinking Iceland!!!! Hahahaha.

We have fires getting closer, so its time to get the cat carriers, & suitcases organized.

But no fire close to you? Must be very bad on your system - and how can you escape smoke?

We can't see our surrounding forestry any much smoke.

Chris, your horrific weather has made the U.S. news. Must be bad.

Patricia, we're getting lovely sunsets (Ind.) from your smoky fires. Sorry you have to stay indoors.

Joan, I can just see you outdoors puttering around in the open spaces surrounded by trees. "Sweet life" indeed!

Sounds great Joan. Too smoky to be outside today.

Whole grains toast dunked in coffee! A splendid way to start my day. The first task is to refill the water tank in the greenhouse, gather ripe vegetables, replenish the bird feeders. Flocks of turkeys come to the feeding station daily now. They leave their lovely poop on the dry, sandy soil, giving promise of some fertile ground for planting. Then, I will have to get out the fencing.

Life is sweet in the forest.

Agreed, Randy. All that sugar just masks the fruit flavour.

Thanks Randall! We have some days of Dutch summer now; not too hot, rainshowers and in between sunshine. It's still very dry - when I walk into the park many trees rattle like in autumn. Older trees look good, but most trees of only two or three years old have died because their roots are not deep enough.

Good weekend to all!

Wow--it's a November looking morning, foggy and dreary looking. Hopefully, it will brighten up.

Breakfast was toast with peanut butter and honey with real strawberries on top. I never buy jam or jelly--too much sugar. Strawberries came frozen from my freezer, picked this past Spring. Coffee, of course!

Hope you all have a nice weekend.
