This is still to this day one reason why I don't like smiling on demand, or cameras.

That's not too personal, Joan.

My teeth, too big for my small mouth, grew in crooked, twisted, cheddar cheese yellow, & despite constant brushing, dental visits to remove some to make room, constant fillings, nothing ever improved. "Witch mouth". I'd either keep my mouth closed or cover it with my hand.

I was standing at the bus stop one day...on my way to the dentist, when a woman also standing there started chatting with me. She then asked if I had been eating cheese. I was so embarrassed!

When I got my first job at age 17, I started having my teeth extracted towards dentures, after an agreement with mother to pay half.

By age 18, I had straight, white, smaller teeth!

When Don was in dental school, my task was to roll his gold foil in preparation for him to practice doing root canals. I've not had one and hope I don't have to. I was Don's patient when he did his first fillings and still have most of them. I lost one tooth to a clamshell in my cioppino.

Patricia, my cousin had all her teeth pulled when she was in high school. I never found out why. May I ask a personal question? Why did you have dentures so young? Of course, you don't have to answer if you don't want to.

I still have my own teeth... what's left of them. A bicycle stand as they call it.

No idea.....I've had dentures since age 18.

It depends, Randall. It may be that the nerve is just dying on its own, then the treatment hardly hurts anymore. You must have very strong teeth that you never had a root canal before!

After nearly 50 mph wind gusts yesterday, it's virtually calm this morning--but cold. I lost a big willow tree limb. I've had the chain saw out cutting wood this past week, so I'll take care of the limb today.

I think I'm getting a cold--scratchy throat--thanks to my youngest grandson who sneezed on me several time 3 days ago. Darn. And just when I have to go in for a root canal tomorrow (Mon). I've postponed the inevitable for 2 months because the pain comes and goes. But now, it's to the unbearable point. It's my first ever root canal, so I don't know what to expect--the worst, I'm sure! At least I still have my own teeth.

Joan, I get catfish nuggets at WinCo and Fred Meyer.  Costco doesn't have them.

I still make smoothies with oatmeal, fruit and nuts, my ideal breakfast. (and there's the fire department racing past for a fire in the harbour once more) Success with the sanctary, Joan!

I love a hot, steaming bowl of oatmeal with raisins or fresh fruit served with it. Cream of Wheat is one of my very favorites, and Roman Meal tantalizes my taste buds. My very favorite breakfast is toast with chunky peanut butter and my homemade concord grape jam.

I spent yesterday finishing making my jam, and it turned out utterly delicious. I used no sugar and did use pectin. Thankfully, I was able to get it to jell. My juice is all canned and ready to go into the pantry. I hope to get to the apples tomorrow to make sliced apples for pies throughout the winter. We still have a few jars of last year's applesauce so I won't make more this year.

Larry and Zac went hunting yesterday for our year's meat supply and came home with only a half-eaten bag of oversweet chocolate covered donuts. It is a wonder they weren't sick today.

I don't eat or cook deer, myself. The fellows like the yearly outing and Laurie likes to cook it. She is the best cook in the family, bar none.
