Ruth's method is worth mentioning too!

She usually creates an image in Photoshop. (Or use whatever image editor you've got! GIMP is sophisticated, cross-platform, free, open-source, and with its various plugins gives Photoshop a run for its money.)

I'm just starting to learn about these ways to get the web browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE, "Internet" on some phones, whatever) to do the work. :)

Now that we've figured out how to actually do some stuff (though not webfonts), I'm reposting the stuff about fonts and text effects in How To Do It: Text effects.

I've tried using emoticons - always locks up.

I was able to copy and paste your HTML but that's as far as I got.

Oh dear me! My life is too complicated right now to try to decipher what you just wrote. I don't have a programmer's mind and may try at a more calm time. Thanks for the information. The variety looks nice.
