When you get right down to it, the Creationism idea is a moral issue. Believing concepts of the bible literally, using moral and ethical principles of the Bronze Age in modern society just doesn't stand up to the criteria of reasoning, exploration, examination, questioning, challenging, or any of the other qualities that made USA stand out from all other nations. We were best in science, research, and support of innovation, but the ball and chain that keeps our nation from evolving further is the notion that one man has the right to own another, or exploit others, or that blacks are inferior to whites, that women are to submit to men, that the earth is 6,000 years old, and all these and more issues that keep us from being a fair and just society with opportunity for everyone, no one held back because of gender, race, or religion.
The notion of dominionism sent USA into places with our war machines to destroy communities, kill people, poison soils and water, contaminating gene pools with terrible chemicals. USA is no better than the Robber Barons of old.
"The Jesusland map is an Internet meme, created shortly after the 2004 United States Presidential election, which satirizes the red/blue states scheme by dividing the United States and Canada into "The United States of Canada" and "Jesusland". The two areas are seen as having fundamental differences in ideology."
Infection of racism and slavery continue to infect the nation with their beliefs.
Map of the United States ca. 1849. Slave states are red, while free states are blue.
