Hi, folks! I'm just about to launch a series of YouTube videos, and need some help with the techie side of things. I'm working on the writing/building part right now, but it will soon be time to buy the camera and start doing test shots. Any recommendations for a good, relatively easy-to-use camera in the $100-$300 price range? I'll be using a Mac for editing. Will iMovie be good enough for the basic job? I'm reasonably tech-savvy, have used win/mac/linux machines for years, but I'm totally new to video.
This is a slightly newer version of the camera that I use. http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL028515&pathId=...

It's quite user friendly, but I find that I have to use a converter utility to make the video files work in most editors. The utility to change formats, SDcopy, is available here. http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=132937
Mucho arigatou, Nathan! I've checked out a few of your vids on YouTube, and it looks like the camera will do what I need. My Mac arrived just today, but it'll be a week or so before I even open the box. Always busy during the war on Christmas season... ^_^
