George thanks for the songs! And yes I did like Hitchcock's movie "the Birds".

Lillie what a wonderful Puffin experience. I would love to do something like that!

Another wonderful experience I had off the coast of Grand Manan Island was with an Elderhostel birding group .  I had always said I could never die happy until I had seen the Puffins.  I signed on for this trip because you were guaranteed to see them.  We boated to one of the Puffin Islands and then transferred to canoes.  We paddled out among the Puffins and were very, very quiet.  They came right up to out canoes.  It was breathtaking.  I will never get over it as long as I live.  And now I can die happy.

Wow! I don't think any of my experiences can beat birding with Roger Tory Peterson. How wonderful!

I would love to hear your birding tales. I bet your stories are wonderful Lillie.

I am a senior birder.  Don't do much these days but have had the most glorious experiences in Costa Rica.  Also, went birding with Roger Tory Peterson.  Priceless.  Look forward to hearing of others experiences.

Woodpeckers on my roof

Much as I don't like them pecking on my house, I love them in the garden. Fun to watch and hear.
