Another gift from Angelica. It just takes my breath away to realize the great diversity that comes about by natural selection. No need for the god hypothesis. Continue

Well Joan, as the old joke tells it:
A very religious woman had a parrot. He had a very dirty mouth and he said all kinds of sexual things, which embarrassed the woman.
Her minister happened to have a parrot and she knew that she could trust him for advice.
The minister told her that his parrot was very devout, and all she did was to pray all day long. The minister suggested that they arrange to place the cages side by side for awhile, and that his religious parrot would be a good influence on her parrot with the dirty mouth.
So they arranged a time and date and brought the parrots together by placing the cages side by side. The parrot with the dirty mouth took one look at the minister's parrot and said, "Hey baby, how would you like to get laid?"
The minister's parrot looked at him, her pupils narrowed, and she said, "Great, just what I've been praying for!"
I agree Melinda. A great way to start the morning.
Dominic, I imagine the colorful parrot has colorful language ... I guess it depends on his environment.
Steph, The beautiful colors on the male Northern Shoveler must be very attractive to the female. I have not heard of Shovelers before.
I really like the Caffeinated Owls.
Beautiful and colorful bird Dominic. Thanks.
Patricia I love that photo! WOW
