Morning Earth Healing Images 10.22.2012

"The prescence of the pileated woodpecker

overwhelms all else in my eyes.
He is the alpha bird I see,
a young male, whose ululating cry
rings out without an open beak.
How intense his eye, how pupil wide.
How profound his drumming spear
that names his realm
and hollows out my yearning ear."

I saw your question about bird seed. I get mine from Wild Birds Unlimited - do you have a store near you?

Wow Sentient - what beautiful pictures! Trying to play catch up.

They do look like House Finches - let me look at my Sibley Bird guide to make sure of the species.
