Red sort, Joan.
Daniel, those apples are eye candy and the pies look perfect! I like tapioca flour, too, for the same reason, it does an excellent job of thickening. You wrote, "Jonared is just a red sport;" I don't know what that means. They look inviting.
Fire has so many side effects!
I've stopped eating from my roof garden after two fires in the oil industry south of here, and a lot of pollution. Then I harvested blackberries, washed them, partner ate them and got a pain in the stomach. Back to flowers and a little grass for cat Luna...
Both my black walnut and almond trees are loaded this year. Actually, the walnut tree is "unloading", littering the ground with its bombs. And, yes, they really hurt! I pick them up by the wheelbarrowfull, move them to a tarp to dry in the sun. I'll be picking out the nuts all winter in the warmth of my basement. They're so good for you.
Almonds don't fall as readily. I need a ladder to pick them. It's a little easier to extract the nut than black walnuts.
My newly planted English walnut tree will take several years to produce. I'm not holding out much hope for my new pecan tree. I see no evidence of life despite watering it regularly all summer.
Daniel, your apples look exactly like mine. Now I know for sure they're Jonathons. I wasn't positive. My tree is at least 35 years old. And dying. I bet the pie tastes as good as it looks.
That's right, & I'm stickin' to it!
Of course its a fruit serving.....looks delicious!
Free phones are a great deal in my books!
Oh that looks so goooooood! I have got to be a little more imaginative with my breads.
