I should be able to make the meetup this Sunday. Thanks for organizing it!

The next meetup is Sunday, April 26. Same old place and time.
If you didn't make it to the Meet the Pastor night, be sure to come. We'll fill you in on the details, plus there's a little bit of follow-up.

I hate those mirror neurons. When I'm walking on the sidewalk and someone else is walking near me I have to try (try HARD sometimes) not to walk in lockstep with them.

"Synchrony seems to be built into the brain. Mirror neurons, neurons that fire when performing an action as well as when the subject is seeing that action performed, are found in significantly larger numbers in human brains relative to primate brains. The same neurons responsible for perceiving and understanding an action (say, seeing someone clap his or her hands) are responsible for generating that action (clapping your own hands). We are natural born imitators."

Here's an update on the "Meet the Pastor" event this Thursday. There are 4 atheists and 3 believers that are pretty much certain to come. One atheist on the "maybe" list and 2 believers who were invited but have not yet responded. So it looks like 7-10 people so far. Again, an RSVP is not required (but still appreciated). Try to get there a little before 8 so you can sit close to the action.

An amazing coincidence - almost what you would call a Class C miracle - Pastor Chuck had been planning on doing a series of sermons beginning in late April about (get this) faith and doubt. Could it get any better than this? Our get-together on the 16th is a big win for us, because a local church leader (and a TBD number of believers) will get to see atheists as normal, likable people. It's a big win for Pastor Chuck because it can round out his ideas on the topic of doubt by seeing it from our perspective. This is much better than I had hoped. Please try to come to the event. If you need a ride, send me a note. Remember 8pm on Thursday, April 16.

Hi all, I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of 2 new nonbelief billboards that were put up last week by the DFW Coalition of Reason ( Cool stuff. Here's a link to the Dallas Morning News story.

We now have a Google Calendar. When you are in the calendar tool, there is a search box beneath the "My Calendars" box. Type "friscoatheists" in the search box and see if you can see the calendar. There is 1 event on April 16th. I think that the world can see the calendar. Please let me know whether or not you're able to find it.
