What will humans be like in 100 years?  1000?  One million?  One trillion? My main reason for this discussion is to see if my thinking is that far off.  I’ve mentioned this subject several times before on Atheist Nexus, in relation to living forever,…Continue

Thanks you for the video Ruth!

Yes, you have a point Spud.

How's everyone doing?

Yes, GC, it is too bad.  What bothers me the most is the flashing images and quick cuts that a lot of them have.  That disorients me and makes me nauseous.  There are some science shows that I would like to see, but the effect on me is so intense that I have to turn them off.

I also hate the deep bass whooshing sounds that they think they have to put in every few seconds

Thanks for that video, Ruth!

It's too bad that even producers of factual documentary video feel the need to resort to attention-grabbing tricks such as black-and-white, flashes of inverse brightness, and slowing and stopping time. (I've seen science shows with plenty of "time warp" effects.)

They're abusing our orienting reflex -- just as commercials do.

(Will we become unable to pay attention to the real world, without the after-the-fact "look at me" eye candy common in TV and video?)

I agree with you Grinning Cat - I miss Douglas Adams too.

Heh! As long as we're not delayed momentarily waiting for a shipment of lemon-scented napkins....

(I still miss Douglas Adams!)
