Forming about 50 miles above ground, these blue-white clouds in the twilight skies are called noctilucent clouds (NLCs). Scientists have now discovered a key cosmic ingredient for these clouds. Meteor smoke.

Love Star Trek, but I wasn't a Star Wars fan.
