I caught it for the first time, a week or two ago, myself.  Very light on the story-line, and there were plot-holes like crazy, but it was fun enough that I can overlook those.

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy.

Anyone see any movies over the holidays?

I forgot to mention that I am also a brass (marchiing) band fan....all my HS friends were in the band (well, 3 of my best friends were majorettes), so I learned to play the bass drum so I could go to the games on the band bus.

I love hearing the bands in the Rose Parade, and get snotty when Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards talk through/over the music.  (Otherwise I like Stephanie Edwards a LOT; she and her husband adopted 2 cats from the Cat Hotel when I was working there, and sent photos of them as they grew into lovely felines.  They are my Pumpkin's cousins.)

Meow! I also enjoy SF (and think that the Sci-Fi Channel's new name of "SyFy" accurately reflects its dumbing down).

Possibly of interest to some folks here: Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality -- what if Petunia married an Oxford biochemistry professor, and young Harry was a prodigy who grew up in a book-filled home learning science and reading SF... only to discover at age 11 that science's description of the universe was stunningly incomplete....

I don't know exactly what kind of nerd I am, I just know I am one.  I read SF ("sci-fi" is a dirty word!), fantasy, and some mysteries, love classical ballet, the way figure skating was before it became a jumping contest, and science.
