Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

bending truth, or "We Can All Be Manipulated" (TheraminTrees)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Grinning Cat Jul 30. 42 Replies

The following is one of TheraminTrees' most thorough-going pieces, wherein he looks at the process and techniques whereby a "religious" organization (which will sound VERY familiar to most of us, once introductions are made!) takes a person who…Continue

Evangelicals Breaking Up with Jesus (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Grinning Cat May 28. 10 Replies

Has evangelical Christianity lost sight of Christ?  Seems to me that there are a whole lot of evangelical Christians who are presuming to represent Jesus by not representing him or misrepresenting him or – let's be honest here – talking out of their…Continue

Yes, Joan, we leave Tuesday on the health bus for Prince George. Pre-op Wednesday, & then we'll just stay there until surgery the 25th. No point coming home on the 21st, to turn around & go back on the 23rd....which is how the bus runs.

I'll have my Chromebook with me so can still be online until I'm in hospital.

Patricia, it won't be long now! Just in time for your spring outings riding to the stores for some socializing and shopping.

Ian, I can only imagine how the wind must be a great challenge. Here is the Earth Wind Map. For those who do not know how to use it, see the tutorial.

Randy, I suspect you will be working all the while you are there and will feel like a vacation when you get home. Happy and safe travels. I would like to learn your assessment of the damage. How are government programs helping in doing the cleanup, assistance to those in need, and what the prospects are for sea rise for that area?

Have a good one Randall. By the time you get back, I should have my new hip.

Enjoy yourself, Randall.

Joan, winter in Denmark is mild, grey and dull. The worst part is the continuous wind.

Have a good time, Randall!

If you don't hear from me in the next 2  weeks, don't fret. (Ha) I'll be in sunny (hopefully) Florida checking out the damage and rebuilding of Mexico Beach (from Hurricane Michael last Oct.).

Hold down the fort.

Hi Ian! Are you surviving this STRANGE winter? This year is like nothing I have experienced. The wind patterns change and predictors don't seem to have any more wisdom than the caterpillars that the oldtimers relied upon.

It's always a pleasure when you pop up,Joan. You're a splendid source of common sense and an inspiration.
