Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

We've all heard about the Deep Field observations of the Hubble Space Telescope, how, almost on a whim, the device was aimed at what was thought to be an empty, unoccupied section of sky and a long time exposure was taken.  What they discovered was…Continue

I've been out and about this week. Among other things to an art exhibition that involved tapdancing and bouncing on a trampoline. All part of an installation series by the Icelandic Love Corporation. Also been to see a film: 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' which was also a lot of fun.

Thanks Ian! I'm still trying to get used to it. I've never been on a website that uses... I'm not sure.. Is it a content management system? Still trying to figure out how the site itself works haha.

Sounds like a fun weekend, Randy.  So, in gym class did you split into two teams?  Skins and skinless?

I'm attending my 55th high school reunion this coming weekend. We were the Frankfort (IN) Hot Dogs! Yes, we've been the butt of many jokes over the years. There were 180 seniors in our graduating class (1961).

Friday, I'm golfing with some old buddies, then going to an informal campfire gathering. Saturday is the main get-together at a fancy motel. I usually attend reunions, not only to see old friends, but because the organizers put in a lot of work to see them happening.

Woke up to this news and it tickled my funny bone.....

Man charged with wearing clear plastic wrap bikini on beach

BEACH HAVEN, N.J. (AP) — Police say a 59-year-old man who wore a bikini fashioned out of see-through plastic wrap on a New Jersey beach is facing a criminal charge.

They say Stephen Wojciehowski spent two days on a Long Beach Island beach wearing a homemade bikini in which his genitals were clearly exposed and was charged with lewdness.

NJ.com reports the Stafford Township man was arrested Monday and was released pending further court proceedings.

A woman who answered the phone at his house said "nobody's here" and hung up. It's unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

I happened on to C-Span last night (Sept 30) and watched the entirety of the opening ceremonies of Smithsonian's National Museum of African-American History and Culture on the National Mall. The Bushes and Obama sat together (and spoke--even Laura). All speeches were inspirational. The museum sounds fantastic.  Too bad it wasn't open when Loren and Daniel were in D.C. recently.

As a sidebar, in flipping channels, I noticed ne'er a word was mentioned about the museum's opening on any of the so-called news channels. It was nothing but Trump, Trump, Trump (and a little Hillary). Gag me.

Grinning Cat, I made the Exact Same Observation.  Signed out of A|N, just about any public page could be pulled up with no problem.  Signed in, it was a crap shoot.  Some pages would intermittently come up; some would generate Error 500.

I STILL say that Ning has some explaining to do!
