Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Never let it be said that Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is anything less than up to date with the state of the art as it comes to the modern household.  However, as a discriminating conservative Christian, Betty would never tolerate…Continue

New Rule: Church and Destroy (Real Time with Bill Maher - HBO)

Bill Maher is an atheist [whoa, shock and amazement!].  He is also a dedicated opponent of Donald Trump and anyone who would support the man or his goals ... and that includes ol' Yahweh, himself!  As it turns out, there is a substantial correlation…Continue

concealing abuse (TheraminTrees)

We think of institutionalized child abuse and for many of us, the natural reaction is to think of the Catholic Church. Certainly, their guilt is beyond question, even as the headlines of the Boston Globe early in 2002 and the more recent news…Continue

Liberal Redneck - Climate Change the Game (Trae Crowder)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Sep 20. 2 Replies

Trae Crowder isn't just about atheism.  He has a deep and abiding concern about what's going on with this planet's climate and the all-too-probable catastrophe we face from a fundamental change in weather patterns.  That said, Trae is thinking about…Continue

Men who challenge men to stop violence

Many men join in the effort to reduce violence against women and children and other men. He speaks of the need to place responsibility on men instead of focusing on women to stop violence. He offers a breath of fresh air, as do so many of the men on…Continue

Chris, I have neglected reading my mail until just now. The condition you found your aunt in is all too familiar. Thankfully, she had you to protect her and make sure she is safe and in loving hands. It is not an easy thing you and your husband do, I respect you all the more , even as my fondness and regard for you is at the highest level. Thinking of you, hoping you are healthy and having some fun as well.

Waving to all of you!

Good morning everyone! This day is a splendid one, cool weather, nice for doing the fall cores, the sky is blue, my tomatoes are ripening nicely and with luck the cover I use will protect them through the first killing frost, which we haven't had yet. Yesterday was herb harvest day. Today is cutting back some of the perennials. I can't remember ever being happier.

@Randy, your comments delight me, I always look to see what you have to write. Your stories of the loss of your long time dog friend and the acquisition of your new one, Dot, feels real to me, the pain and pleasure available to A/N friends.

@Chris, I would like to see a selfie you took of you and your aunt. , if that isn't too personal. I think of you often and am so glad you can visit and not have responsibility for her daily care.

Mindy, Happy day with your daughter home for a day. Dood news of her happiness with both her school and her job. She sounds like she is on a level track now. I wish her great success. A promotion already! She must be GOOD. Of course, she has such a lovely face and I am sure a delightful personality, if she is anything like her mother.

Good health to all, with happy times, contented feelings, great family and friends to keep you company.

I'm off to the garden, see you this evening.

Try to bore us, Randall! I like to listen to you. How old your father is! And still some communication too! Good for you.

I visited Aunt today. I took a few selfies of her and me but she can't recognize herself anymore.

Yes, Chris, all my groups have been "quiet" recently. Joan seems pretty active with blogs and groups, but otherwise....

I've been silent here because I'm not a cat person and I can't listen (and respond) to music videos.  Plus, I live a rather dull life and don't wish to bore readers.

There's a country church a half mile (0.3k) down the road. They'll ring a church bell at 9. It's a chilly--near frost--morning. It doesn't look inviting for my Sunday morning walk with the dog. But the sun is out, so we'll see. Going to visit my 96 yr old father this PM. He always seems happy to see him (and visa versa).

A very good imitator, Patricia!

How is everyone? You're all very quiet. I hope you've got something nice to do.

Sunday morning 9 o'clock here - everything still quiet but I can hear some churchbells. I'll write lessons today.
