Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

appropriating morality (TheraminTrees)

We've all heard the claim: "Human morality comes from god."  And we've all seen for ourselves what Yahweh's "morality" looks like, from condemnations of homosexuality and the treatment of women as chattel to inexplicable sanctions against the eating…Continue

The following showed up in my YouTube feed this morning, and I decided to have a look.  Turns out, the New York Times has given us a reasonably even-handed look at a good friend of ours, being one Jerry DeWitt, former bible-thumper and now a pretty…Continue

Carl, I would like to see Elizabeth Warren as president as well. She is smart and tough, and not afraid of authority or power. She is a powerhouse that could get this country moving. She needs a Progressive Congress to achieve the goals to make our country strong again.

I like the political discussion and think we need more of it here. I am always disappointed when the conversation slips into "Hello, how are you, I am fine". I like a good bone on which to chew.

It's not my intention to turn this forum into a political discussion, but here's a little snippet of Elizabeth Warren.  I would love to see her as our US president.

Let's have a Warren/Sanders ticket.

Or Sanders/Warren. Either one is fine with me.

I would vote for Bernie Sanders in a New York minute as well.  I have mixed feelings about Hilary Clinton.  At this point in time she is the apparent frontrunner in a presidential race, far ahead of any possible republican candidate.  I would much prefer her in the oval office over any of the nutcases presented from the GOP side.   Like they say:  the lesser of two evils.

I'm quite impressed with Elizabeth Warren, senator from Massachusetts.  I would love to see her as president.  The problem with both her and Bernie Sanders is that they are virtually unknown to the vast majority of the ignorant public.  They wouldn't have a chance against the usual superficial personality contests that permeate presidential elections amongst the general populous.  I wish people weren't so intellectually lazy.

I would vote for Bernie Sanders in a skinny minute!  Mrs. Clinton lost me when she made an impassioned speech in the Senate (in Oct. 2002) favoring the despicable invasion of Iraq.  If she really believed the WMD lies, then she's too stupid to occupy the Oval Office; if she knew they were lies, but favored the rape of Iraq anyway....SHE is despicable.  (Plus she still has connections to the subversive Family Fellowship and their "prayer partners."  Gullible twit.)

Barton is only one of many really ignorant politicians. Mercy! I see that Bernie Sanders (I, VT) is considering running for pres. I like him.

Mindy, you're correct, my birthday is today, the 16th.

Sk8eycat, I love the TED video.  Of course, I'm familiar with a clarinet being called a licorice stick, but a carrot clarinet?  That was new to me.  Cute and funny.

Thanks again to all of you for your wonderful birthday messages.  You've made today extra special for me.
