From the first time I heard "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," I fell in love with the sweet harmonies and rich, warming music made by Crosby, Stills and Nash.  Since that time, they celebrated the Summer of…Continue

1939's Fantasia started my love affair with classical music. I have hundreds of hours of it on disc and tape, and at I can hear far more.

For half of my eighty five years, my high-frequency deafness has made unnecessary the purchase of the best-quality hardware but double bass music can rattle my bones most pleasantly.

Gerhwin is a great artist as well.

The Score for Porgy and Bess is wonderfull.

Unfortunately we are begining to loose some of the best Jazz and Blues Musicians.

John Lee Hooker used to live about a half a mile from me in Vallejo Ca.

Toots Thielemans was an artist of the first water.  I once heard him do his own take on Gershwin's "My Man's Gone Now," from Porgy and Bess and infused it with emotion the likes of which few voices could encompass.

His talent will be sorely missed.

Thanks, Chris. I enjoyed listening (and watching) the harmonica man perform. Genius.

Yes, Toots was fantastic.  A very soulful player.  Great songs in that playlist, Chris.

Great harmonica (and guitar) player, Jean (Toots) Thielemans died at age 94. If you ever heard the Sesame Street music, that was Toots. He was a marvel on jazz harmonica. Probably his most famous jazz composition and recording was "Bluesette". I can hear it now. Farewell, Toots.

I don't remember this, Carl, but, wow! it was fun listening to--and following the lyrics. Amazing!
