In the '90s  there was a movement for Jazz and swing music.

Randy, even though I was born in 1964, I grew up on Big Band music as well.  It's always been my favorite.  That had a big influence on me choosing to play the saxophone.

Carl, the big band jazz of the 30's and 40's is what I grew up with, thanks to my parents. Still great music.

Traffic. Steve Winwood was instrumental changing music at the time as was Steeley Dan, Dan Folgulgburg, and Donald Fagan as pop, dance music such as disco,  and rock and roll dominated radio stations.

I suppose there have alway been listeners to 'alternative' music.

That's a great Steve Winwood song from a great album.  I still have my vinyl copy from the 80's.

Love this song....with Chaka Khan singing background vocals.

This isn't very trendy music, but I think James Taylor absolutely captured the meaning of life in this song.

I especially love the line "And where will we hide when it comes from inside?"
