Hearing the terrible clapping at the end of the Butterfly lovers - sounds so (Mao)  Communist Chinese to me.

Chris, your last video was interesting. The pianist also played the flute! Chinese music is certainly different from what the Western world listens to. Personnally, I'm not a fan. Too much "soupiness"--sliding into next notes. I lasted 4 minutes.

Three strings such as a Sanxian  contributes to beautiful music.

I like Robert Randolph's music, but have to close my eyes, 'cause I can't stand watching his contortions.

Synthesized Layed Down 'guitars' aren't really guitars - are they?

Original guitarists may call Les Paul amplified and synthesized string instruments something other than a guitar.

What's the difference between a Fiddle and a Violin?

I understand the only difference is the way it's played.

I saw Pat Metheny play a Pikasso 42-String guitar in concert.  The attached video  doesn't sound as good as he did live in concert.

My Uncle who is a retired  horn Jazz musician hates Pat Metheny.

The list of great guitarists, both classical and jazz (for me) is lengthy. Ralph Towner is new to me. John Williams--a fave.

Notice I never add anything to play, youtube or otherwise. That's because I'm computer illiterate. Sad, I know.

I've been a big fan of guitarist John Williams for years.  His technique is so clean.

Wow, I didn't know Charo had such great talent on the guitar.  Very impressive!

While we're on the topic of guitar, allow me to enter into evidence the handiwork of a man I've been listening to for now over 40 years: Mr. Ralph Towner:
