Politics, Economics, and Religion

Religion has so many connections to political and economic beliefs, there needs to be a place to identify linkages, problems, goals, options, action plans and evaluation criteria.

What is the purpose of life?

An eternal question, what is the purpose of life?, occupied philosophers’ thoughts throughout history. Stone pictographs reveal even primitive peoples reflected on this query. Each one has the capacity to define his or her personal thinking about politics, economics and religion.

Just look at how unstable our economy is and has been the past 145 years! Yes, there are fewer recessions now than 100 or even 50 years ago. The people harmed by these fluctuations are people who work for a living. Their earning power and consumer…Continue

About the trinity being abracadabra.

A conservative man I knew whose daughter was marrying a Catholic went to the classes for non-Catholics. He told me he saw much of the material as abracadabra and asked so many questions that the priest conducting the group told him he would never be a Catholic.

Catholicism would die if no one sent their children to Catholic schools.

"Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions."

If conservatives were able to grasp satire aimed at them, ridiculing them would be even more fun.

Listening to a Keith Olbermann piece on Sarah Palin and got the following gem:

Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions.  Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity.  It is the mere abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus.

Very interesting, wealthy republicans buy and pay for politicians, and they manipulate and exploit those who vote to keep foreigners, minorities, women, socialists, gays, and liberals from ruining their lives.

Little do they know these are not he ones who want to ruin you life, they want equal opportunity, access to living-wage jobs, education, medical care and retirement. A little vacation money would be nice too.

Grinning Cat, perfect, as usual. Based on fact, even if it is a bit over the top. What the heck, people need to get a jolt. I'm reposting it. Thanks.

You could easily add "atheists" to this list of scapegoats:

(Anyone know the image source?)

Worker: 'I vote Republican to keep foreigners, minorities, women, socialists, gays, and liberals from ruining my life.' Fat cat: 'I vote Republican to keep this moron from ralizing that I'm the only one ruining his life!'
