The tiny savings in lighting cost is more than offset by increased air conditioning use (in offices, factories, and shopping malls). The impetus behind increasing periods of DST in the US isn't energy savings, but lobbying by groups including golf and golf equipment, patio and barbecue manufacturers, and the oil and gas industries.

I love that quote, Joan!

Great quote, Joan!  I've read that the "savings" in cost is negligible.

GGGRRRR!!! All these battery operated clocks in the house that need to be reset twice a year. I can't help but think of the Native American who said of daylight saving “Only a white man would believe you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.”

Sleep was terrible last night, but hopefully this will be the last time we have to change time. BC want's to stop time change by 80-90%.

After losing an hour for DST to begin, I'm wondering how I'll be affected today, if at all. I scrambled an egg this morning--with bacon and an orange on the side. Yum.

Have a good day--one hour lost or not!

I drink 2, 14 oz. cups of coffee, per day, & 2, 8 oz cups of mixed green & black tea per day.

Good article too.

I agree, coffee on an empty stomach is a no go for me either. I like dark strong coffee too, none of the wimpy stuff thanks.

Fasting is another thing not for me either.
