In the Navy in 1950 my “buddies” told me to drink it or skip the coffee break.Naive, I believed them but needed four teaspoons of sugar to make it drinkable.Several months ago read of cold-brew in…Continue

FYI, I'll be gone from my computer for 10 days starting Fri Ap 25th. I'm driving to the Moab Utah area to do a Wilderness Volunteer service trip--trail repair. Cowboy coffee all week!!

Not good news, Mindy. Keep us informed. And good luck.

Monday, Monday...remember that song from the Mamas and the Papas? I'm showing my age. Great day to watch the sunrise with my fresh pot of coffee. Today, I'm playing golf and working in the garden. Life is good!

Hey Steph. I'm drinking coffee in MY "office"--the coverted bedroom into a computer room! Easter notwithstanding, have a great weekend everyone!

Mindy, must be going around--malfunctioning garage doors, that is. My motor went out last week. And thanks for using my "nickname". It feels and looks so much better!

Funny, even though I sign my name "Randall", I'm not used to being called that. I've been Randy all my life. The former sounds too formal, the latter, too chummy. My father always called me Randi (with a hard i). I like that.

I can still smell that freshly perked coffed from downstairs! Have a great weekend, everyone.

BL: Hope you had a good lunch with your mother and daughter. How nice! Yes, take advantage of every moment you can spend with family members. Out of my 4 grown kids, only one daughter is nearby. Her two older sisters are in Calif. and Honduras, brother (youngest) is also in Calif. I don't like it , but what are you going to do?  I'll see them altogether at T-giving this year!

Happy hump day everyone. When I woke up this morning, I thought  to myself how nice it was not to have to get up and go teach school. I've been retired 16 years and still appreciate staying home and smelling the coffee.

Thanks, BL for sending down your snow (to the Laf. IN area). We appreciate the cold temps, too!  How depressing. At least my freshly brewed coffee went well with my blueberry pancakes this morning. You all have a great day!

My preference is an old fashion electric percolator. Since the water is recycled (so to speak) many times, the coffee comes out stronger. Plus, I can use far less grinds. When I drink "drip" coffee, I find it is rather bland--sort of like restaurant coffee, if you know what I mean. But whatever--to each his own. Or, as my parents would say, "twichy" (to each). Have a good one.
