At the shelter, they said I take them to the vet myself. It's not already done.

Chris - just don't let your cat watch too much TV. :)
Hi Grinning Cat, thanks for the warning! Dido & Luna both would like to have interactive TV, but I don't. So they sit on top and try to catch the ball before the players do and they like animal programs so we watch those together.
When my mom got my cat neutered, he wouldnt have anything to do with her for a few weeks. But was fine after that.
Things seen round the pod. Diaspora that is.

Thanks, Tammy! I love Chemistry Cat (And Business Cat, and Basement Cat, and anything cat!)
Idaho Spud: The younger your cat is when it is spayed or neutered, the faster they heal, and the less problems you will have with things like territorial spraying (males), and mating behavior (females). Sex is not fun for most animals, it's a compulsion, and they have no control over it.
Plus the cat and dog overpopulation in this country is horrific... thousands of unwanted animals end up in shelters every year and are killed because there are not enough homes for them, and all shelters are always overcrowded.
As for post-op pain, ask the vet. Do NOT ever give a cat any pain relievers made for humans...especially not aspirin, Tylenol, etc. (I don't know what's safe for dogs.) Always talk to the vet, or a licensed vet tech, before you give your cat any medication that they have not prescribed.
Tammy and Grinning cat - those are great LOLs! Thanks for the smiles!
LOL Glad you guys enjoy them, I love that one of the kitty you just posted Steph, my Mother's cat was acting the same way about my presence in her house this afternoon and all I did was trim kitty's nails!
Love that Patricia! LOL
How's everyone's Friday going?
It's Saturdaymorning here and the cats thought I was crazier than ever yesterday. I got a attack of lumbago - could hardly move - and when feedingtime came we were in the kitchen, but I couldn't pick up the bowls and I couldn't reach into the cupboard to get the catfood. You should have seen those catfaces: surprised and indignant! Peace was restored by a kind neighbour.

Chris, is "lumbago" the same thing as lower back pain or sciatica? Does it happen often, and have you seen an orthopedic specialist about it?
I have a gadget that helps me grab things from the floor and/or from high places. I think you can get them from medical supply stores...or your doctor can order one for you.
In the meantime, does THIS help?
THAT helps, thanks Sk8eycat! I think lumbago and sciatica are about the same; both with screaming nerve ends. I haven't seen a specialist because I can hardly use public transport just now (and haven't got a car), and in a few days everything calms down and I'll wonder why I should go to a specialist. But the grabber gadget is a good idea, I'll try to get one - and must remember to store it in a place where I can get it the next time...
Sorry about your lumbago Chris. Not fun at all. However, I would have liked to see the expressions on your cats. That was probably funny.
Love Dr. Tinycat sk8eycat!
I want a Tinycat.

My favorite Scrabble kitty:
My brothers old cat loved when we played board games. Of course she loved more joining in and getting to lay on the board.

We used to enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles, but gave it up after the cats discovered how much fun it was to bat the pieces under the sofa, and everywhere else.
I had a cat the used to eat the puzzle pieces without us knowing. We would use up all the pieces, and there would be holes left.
Chris, the gadget I have is a 32" lightweight Sammons Preston Reacher, but there are many different brands and types. Amazon has them, but their prices are too high; you might check out Drugstore.com.
Mine won't hold anything really heavy, like a full ream of printer paper; I haven't tried picking up a cat food dish. I've been using mostly unleaded ceramics lately...saucers from a cheap old set that mother bought for the "beach house" (a trailer, really) 60+ years ago. Why spend money on special pet dishes when I have all this old stuff lying around the house? (and the garage...) The cats don't care.
Thank Sk8eycat, I'll investigate what I can get here. Your gadget looks good! And in the meantime I got some possibilities of movement back - I can almost pick up things from the floor ;-) not yet my cats, but they will wait..
My sister won a prize with this pic of my cat Whiskey

That photo has always reminded me of Bucky the cat in the "Get Fuzzy" comic strip!
Steph, I didn't post the bologna-nom-nom-nom photo, Tony did. I just said the cat reminded me of Bucky.
PS: I just finished forwarding "Awesome" to about 20 more cat fans! THANK you, tony!
I love that GIF!
Now I need to add it to my webpage!

I wonder if the invisible beach ball is like Clint's invisible president.
Invisible things are a tradition with Cheezburger's LOLCats:
Religious cat says:
Those are all great guys!
Great, Steph. Gonna have to have this one too. Keep 'em coming.
