Thanks for sharing sk8eycat. And about the death thing. Religious people believe in an afterlife anyway so I've never understood why they're so hurt when someone dies.  lmboo @ THIS is how xians act...that's about right :)

Loren Miller, I often use that one myself. I can't stand when people say I've been hurt and I'm blaming god. I'm like but there is no god.  I started to use logic folks.

Aramis: THIS is how xians act:

Do they have ANY idea what "Teabagging" REALLY means?

If people who knew me in my churchgoing days ask, I tell them the truth...I read the entire buybull, looking for answers to personal problems (as we were always told to do). and realized it was totally preposterous, blood-drenched, and obscene.  "And that's when I stopped buying that bull."

I'm like so many of us, I've always wanted to know the TRUTH about everything, not some feelgood fable. I was one of those kids who drove my parents crazy with questions, starting with, "Why is the sky blue?"  That was when I was around dad did try to explain it in terms I could understand.  We also went outside on clear nights, and he told me about the constellations...making sure I understood that those stories about Andromeda, et al, were myths.

Actually, I think he was a tightly closeted atheist even then.  When he knew he was dying, he said NO services, and dump his ashes in the ocean.  So that's how it was, and how it will be for me.  (I actually told my JW sister that she could flush my ashes down the terlet if she wanted to.  *snicker*)

Them: Were you always an atheist, or did something happen to make you an atheist?
Me: Yes - common sense.

I see. Sometimes, I do get "but why not, you act just like a christian." I'm like "really no I don't, I have a moral compass."  lol And that's how I lose friends.

I bet they hate it!

I never went through that phase, I guess because I'm not famous.  What I got (and still get after 40+ years), is astonishment...."But,'re so nice!"

I'm not, really.  I'm a cynical practical joker, among other things.  I enjoy writing snarky rebuttals to the silly things fundies post after news articles about religion and lack of religion.
