The junior senator from the state of New Jersey, Cory Booker has thrown the gauntlet down on anyone who wishes to profess their religiosity while their actions are a disservice and a travesty to those they supposedly serve. He has effectively said, "If you're going to talk the talk without walking the walk, I have no time for you."

Tip of the hat, Mr. Booker. Thank you.

I'm talking to you about how talk is cheap, LOL !!!

My boss used to have a motto "It is OK to be skeptical, but not cynical" to which every employee in the room gave an eyeroll.

Yeah, I know it's not just the Republicans, it's any and all political parties....and any individual involved in religion, for christ's sake!!

I don't have much sympathy for Megyn Kelly either, Pat.  You're totally right, the Trump Monster is a collaborative creation of both Fox and Trump himself.  Yes, while insulting Megyn Kelly, Trump bit the hand that fed him and shit in the bed where Roger Ailes sleeps.  But fear not, Trump and Fox (the corporation person-hood) have made up and are sweethearts once again.  Trump was just recently back on Fox for his daily fifteen minutes of fame thanks to the generous hospitality of Sean Hannity.

Carl, you and I and a LOT of other people know that such an attitude has to be not just questioned but actively challenged.  Someone in the crowd has to speak up and call them on it, and not just the Republicans but the Democrats as well, and if for no other's sake then for that of the nonbeliever.

We're citizens, too, guys ... ignore us at your peril!

Oh, and of course none of the GOP candidates will have to endure any followup questions regarding their faith because we all know faith is a virtue, which makes it unquestionable.

Fantastic!  That's a great statement, especially from a politician.  By all published accounts, Mr. Booker is a theist (a Baptist.)  If humanity has to endure having religion is this world, I'd rather it be coming from individuals like Cory Booker.  And he's not bad on the eyes, either!  :)

I thought it was a brilliant statement, Bertold, even though he is very likely not an atheist.  I am very encouraged by the disconnect he highlights between what religionists say and what they do.  This should be particularly valid of those in the GOP currently jockeying for the nomination for president.  The shame of course is that there will likely be no such challenge during the primary debates or after the candidates are chosen.
