That was my first tour with Holiday...4 months out of high school, and a week after my 18th birthday.  That entire tour was an an eye-opener, and b) more damn fun than I ever expected to have.

PS: Happy National Chocolate Cupcake Day! (It says so on my Cheezburger calendar. Srsly.)

Ok! I found you! That's an interesting story behind the photo.

I'm sitting on the floor laughing...slightly left of center.  I was supposed to be "Eloise" or "Little Iodine," or a combination of all those bratty cartoon girls.

See the "nun" on the far right?  He's one of the boys I took lessons with here in Burbank.  He'd gone to Catholic schools all his life, and hated every minute of it.  The "habit" was absolutely authentic, and he stayed in character for at least the first hour of the party, sitting in a straight-backed chair off to one side, not talking to anybody, looking prim with his hands holding a big wooden rosary in his lap.  Except for one small detail; he had a pillow stuffed down the front of the costume. He was a pregnant nun!  The hit of that party...along with the two guys in black on the far left.  They had little cardoard signs on their purses that said "25 Cents."  Two-Bit Whores."

The Greenville newspaper sent a reporter and a photographer to cover the party, and we kept looking for the story in the paper, but it never appeard.  some of us finally went down to the offices to see if we could buy prints of whatever pictures had been taken.  The had destroyed the negatives, and when we asked why, we were told rather huffily, "This is a family newspaper!"

That's Greenville for you.  Even back then it was the home of Bob Jones University...I asked a guy I was dating there to drive me by the place because I was curious....I'd heard about it in church, and its rules for student behavior were a joke to all of us.  Well, it looked like a prison.
