A handsome young man to be sure!

My high school grafuation was held outdoors in the town stadium. It started to rain, and of course diplomas were handed out alphabetically. Long before the got to the Ws, it was pouring and we left without waiting. Bug midwestern thunderstorm.

Like Pat, I wasnt happen in my teen years either. I wound up joining the army in the mid - late 70s. Its a bit of a wonder I didn't get myself killed. I hated my home town. Loathed it.

These days sometimes I feel a demented nostalgia. The town wasn't so bad, just the people who lived there. I would love to visit, if you could arrange for a case of The Andromeda Strain to pass through first, then wipe everything down with some Lysol. There were some nice trees there.

For anyone that doesn't know, this stretched picture can be seen in proper proportions by clicking on "View Full Size".  I don't know why it's stretched, and haven't been ambitious enough to figure out how to correct it.

Spud, I didn't want to go to HS graduation either. I did, but formal celebrations and rituals are not something I enjoy, and try to avoid. Unlike you, I really wasn't all that happy during my teen years. Couldn't wait to get the f(#k out of my house and away from  my parents. Ran off to Europe, and ended up in the Army in 1970. After that, never looked back to my hometown.

I remember being fairly happy during my teen years, but not here.  I didn't want to attend High School Graduation because I was a little sick, and I did not like pomp & ceremony.  Still don't.  However, my mother talked me into going.
