"I would like to ask you some questions about the pitfalls that may lay ahead of me. If you have time that is...I am about to enter my second semester in my junior year of my BSN program. I do go to a Catholic nursing school, but the reasons are…"
This is a hard one to deal with. Working in the emergency room, I see many schizophrenic patients who are, of course, extremely religious. I find it funny that schizophrenia and hyper religion go hand in hand. When I was a new nurse I had a…"
"Sometimes I feel as if I am a bigot because I really DESPISE religion and stupidity. I feel that I am really intolerant of religion at times. I have christian friends, some who know I am a non theist and some who don't. I feel that I have to be…"
Drake arrived on December 11th @ 1308 hours. He was 7 pounds 2 ounces and 19 and 3/4 inches long. He is just precious. His hospital pics are great. I was really impressed. Piper's hospital pics were terrible. I will post pics as soon as I can. The following is a link to his hospital pics until I can get up some pics.…See More
"When will people realize that abstinence only education just doesn't work. Telling adolescents whose hormones are going crazy not to have sex because it is immoral is just ludicrous. These young adults need the facts. They need to know what is…"
A place for atheists to discuss morality issues. What shapes your morality? What new perspectives have you found since abandoning faith (if you ever had any)? Is there any merit to religious moral authority?

I am so excited about finding this community. I have been an atheist for a few years and before that I called myself an agnostic. My husband doesn't like to use the word atheist because of its alienating effect on people, he likes to call us rationalists. I am a RN who works in the emergency room in a medium sized hospital in the south. I have a 21 month old little girl and we are expecting a son… Continue
Greetings, Ambre! I notice you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since Jan. <sigh> Sometimes it can seem a bit fragmented, with different groups for every interest. Please consider a group for socializing, where we talk about whatever's on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D You might feel more at home.
Hi Ambre, I occasionally manage to get over to Clemson to walk the beautiful lanes and paths around Twin lakes. New baby, new school - high stress doesn't begin to describe it! If you are over in the area around BMW ever, drop me a note. We would be delighted to have you visit for tea and cake (or whatever) Bring the kids, our ten year old twins need more babysitting practice so they can make some money and let their parents retire. Ummm, that's a joke, in case my bizarre humor was missed. Welcome to AN.
Welcome to Atheist Nexus whose member rationalists like yourselves recognise that religion is a fraud and gods are nothing but superstitions of the credulous.
