"It's kind of hard for me to take this kind of absurdity very seriously, it's so laughable. I'm a science teacher in Texas, and despite the bullshit from some of the real crackpots, this "controversy" hasn't made much…"
"The contradiction is this: on the one hand they say they must rely on themselves for their protection, but in the next breath will tell you to place all your trust in their deity: "Let go and let god". Their fixation on guns is motivated…"
"Thanks for sharing. I have also wondered about what science has said on it based on what some natives have said and taught. Also, based on that I would also like to know how long us homo sapiens have been in South America."
"Thank you for sharing Andrew. I know there are some scientists who do not think this is evidence of earlier human occupation in North America. I recall in my college anthropology classes (years ago) the professor said there was some evidence…"
"Not that it will ever convince a Koolaid drinker, but my argument is the antithesis of your experience: if you had been killed those folks would excuse their deity for not saving you. "He's in a better place, blah blah blah". An eye…"
"An extension of this strategy is to give "equal time" to different sides of an argument, creating the illusion that all sides have equally validity. There's a lot of b.s. in the public record and news media under these auspices. For…"
Hello Andrew Welcome to this friendly Internet community of rationality and peace, common sense and freethinking evidence-based wisdom.
We invite you to visit and join the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Gods, Atheism, Evolution, Darwin..." with 1100 discussion topics and 4180 members. http://www.atheistnexus.org/group/originsuniverselifehumankindanddarwin There are over 1100 groups in Atheist Nexus. Do go visiting and try "Hang with Friends". Terry
There are LOTS of groups and forums to explore here. I particularly recommend the active, relaxed, freewheeling Hang With Friends. Texas Heathens is worth a look too; and Writing to Congress offers inspiration on ways to respond to our "unpresidented" political landscape.
Groups don't clutter up a "timeline" or "news feed" page; some of us are members of many dozens.
And I keep discovering things through the "Latest Activity" in the lower right of each page. (Mobile view: menu, Activity.)
