Thanks, Cheryl, for the tip about the origins group. I see there are lots of interesting groups available. I'll probably join quite a few of them. I've only joined the parenting group so far - I have a 10 year old son.
cheryl - i don't know why i thought you lived in texas - i'd much rather visit oregon. don't tell anyone, but i do go to a pagan group for seasonal celebrations. it makes me feel so much a part of the earth instead of so separated like i am in the city. (new york)

I don't post a lot, but I do read! It's refreshing to meet people who have their heads in the right place, LOL!! We're having a special election here in Nevada District 2 to replace Rep. Dean Heller-R who was appointed to the Senate. The Democrat, Kate Mitchell sent out well-reasoned literature citing her political history and what she had done for Nevada as treasurer, while the Republican, Mark Amodei, sent out scare literature with old people making horrified faces saying that Kate would destroy Social Security and Medicare. Now, who do you think the stupids will vote for?????
I'm relatively new in a new city, while old friends in the old city haven't been too thrilled with me since I "came out" on facebook [people are either truly protective of their myths or uncomfortable with someone who doesn't believe in any] - either way like-minded people to chit-chat with is why I'm here! :)
