Ya know, I've not really followed politics on your end, what's been going on?

There's a ridiculous "war" of sorts going on between liberals and conservatives here, mainly over the health care debate. The general public is losing too much respect to the point that liberals and conservatives alike are at each other's throats. :/

Dude you're so lucky you aren't in the States...there's a manhunt for conservatives...

I would love to have something in the Guardian. Any contacts there?

Colin,

I have looked at the web sites you sent. I think the papers will only be interested in something that has a more local slant, and as such we'd have to seize a moment when religion/atheism were in the news for some reason. Alternately, if there is a thread in the news comparing the US and the UK somehow we could add on to that. In any case, let's pounce on the opportunity as it comes up. I can't stay current with the news over there, but you let me know when the window opens for us, yes?

Hey, sorry to be long in getting back to you. Send me a link to the local paper and/or the biggest publication that we could shoot for.

In the vernacular here, an "op-ed" is an opionion or editorial essay. Typically these are 800-1200 words, have a viewpoint, and can be somewhat reflexive/personal.

Though I've been to Scotland, I have not had the pleasure of visiting Glasgow.

As for the "native atheist" thread, glad to contribute. If you're interested in any of the other results from my survey, let me know...we could collaborate on an op-ed for your city newspaper.
