"I agree 100% Glen. The end of their presumptuous co-opting of morality is way overdue, and we've got nothing to prove."

"What pisses me off is that so many atheists fall for the notion that they have to prove they can be moral without religion. The question is whether theists can be moral with it. Equating morality with religion is the default position. Well fuck that…"

Good Without an Apology

Atheists can’t provide a sound basis for their morality.…it’s the kinder gentler version of “atheists can’t be moral,” which is a common theme among Christian apologists. To be sure, some folks go back and forth between the two messages, but at least some apologists do seem to keep a clear distinction between the claim that atheists cannot be moral and the claim that whatever morals we may have, we simply cannot justify them in rational terms.More here:…See More

Let Us Not Praise the Prosperity Gospel With Faint Damn: It’s Worse than its Theology!

“Joel Osteen’s Fake, Heretical ‘Christianity’ Isn’t Any Better Than Atheism.”That’s the title of an article from blogger Matt Walsh published yesterday on The Blaze. “The Faith of Christopher Hitchens” …In Which I Read Snake Oil

I’m starting to wonder if it isn’t the fate of prominent atheists to end up with Christian apologists for spokesmen. Okay, I don’t literally believe in fate (either), but let’s just say the pattern is starting to look a little too common.Read more here.See More

The internet is full of pages providing us with numbers.Numbers and tips!Numbers OF tips. That’s right. The internet is full of posts containing a designated number of little advisatory gems. I don’t know how much use there is in reading these lists, but I’m convinced there must be a point to writing them. I reckon the wisdom must reside in the numbers. So, the secret to providing advice online must be to put the advice in the form of a list of useful tips. Most importantly, you have to number…See More

Welcome, Dan! Glad you could join us. :D

Please consider joining a group to meet people and talk about anything that's on your mind, Hang With Friends. You might also like Atheist Teachers, BloggersEven Heathens Love Their Pets! and Atheist Ailurophiles.

I also recommend Eco-Logical and Climate Concerns, since the climate is changing so drastically in Alaska and elsewhere.

After you've searched for topics of interest in "Groups" above and in the "Forums", don't forget to look at recent activity which hides along the right margin of the page all the way at the bottom.

Hi Dan

A big welcome to this world of rationality, truth and peace, where common sense and science lead to freethinking wisdom --- as you know in being a  non believer and freethinker like us.

We invite you to make good friends by joining the busy group "ORIGINS: Universe, Astronomy, Life, Earth, Humans, Religion, Gods, Atheism, Evolution, Darwin..." with 700 discussion topics and 3500 members.
