I myself have been pretty solidly in the libertarian camp for much of my life. I played around with a number of political theories/ideas when I was younger, but I never really strayed too far away from my underlying libertarian bent. Even though my parents didn't push their political views on me much as a child (or religious views for that matter), it seems that libertarianism runs in the males of my family. My dad is a right wing libertarian, his dad is a minarchist, and his father left soviet Russia on his own two feet during WWII so I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was libertarian leaning as well.
Last summer I stumbled upon the Freedomain Radio website run by Stefan Molyneux. Most all of his ideas really clicked well for me. I was finally able to see completely through most of the prostate propaganda that I had been fed and saw what true freedom is. I feel very fortunate that I broke free of the state while still in my youth; before I begin to teach my future children about politics. :)
