David D Crutcher replied to Kathleen O's discussion Being forced to go to church Christmas Eve....
"So Kathleen, do you have to participate in the catholic aerobics as well?  ; )   just poking fun at you.  I hate it when ever there is a family gathering and they all want to pray before we eat.  It's not so bad at moms…"

David D Crutcher replied to James M. Martin's discussion How to Make Yourself Very, Very Popular (at an X-Mess Gathering)
"Better to celebrate christmas in the winter I'd say because there's not much else to do.  You can't really spend much time preparing and celebrating in the warmer months when there's crops to be tended.  I'm not…"

David D Crutcher replied to Will-I Am S.'s discussion Athiests that makes Atheism look stupid.
"I don't know how to comment on this one except to say that not everyone who claims to be atheist is a true atheist, in fact many people claiming atheism don't even fully understand what that means.  I recently met a woman who…"

Greetings, David! I see you haven't been active at Atheist Nexus since March. We have a new group where you might feel more at home. Please consider joining  Hang With Friends , where we can share our stories and laugh, and discuss anything on our minds.

lol...they've been threatening us with the BIG ONE for years.  We get little shakers here once in a while.  I live on Vancouver Island.  There was a tsunami warning for the west coast of the island after the quake in Japan.  One or two small towns were evacuated in the wee hours but it was a non-event.  Rumors are that our island will sink in the event of a big quake.  Lately that's been modified though.  Now I've heard that our island will rise up and Vancouver will sink.  I wish they'd make up their minds.

I'm not sure about the rest of the country but here in Victoria things are warming up nicely.  We don't really get any snow here - if we do it only lasts a few days or a week.  Daffodils are ready to bloom.

How about down south?

I read a lot of stuff on Atheist Empire about Creationists trying to enforce teaching Genesis as part of the public school curriculum.  Are they really that crazy?
