The Nightmare of Christianity: How Religious Indoctrination Led to MurderBy Max Blumenthal, The Nation. Posted September 14, 2009.

A few miles down the road from Colorado Springs [a home to James Dobson's Focus on the Family], in the quiet bedroom community of Eldredge, a deeply disturbed young man named Matthew Murray followed the unfolding debacle… Continue

Ken Ham of Creation Museum lies to children in book saying dinosaurs lived with man.

The blog called Pharyngula posts a picture of a page from the book by Ken Ham and John Morris called "What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs."

Bible-thumping is right there at the heart of the organization. That's their whole premise, that the Bible is literally true and all science must conform to it. The Creation "Museum" isn't about science at all, but is entirely about a peculiar, quirky, very specific… Continue

Dinosaur find raises debate on feather evolution

NEW YORK (AP) - A small dinosaur that once roamed northeastern China was covered with a stiff, hairlike fuzz, a discovery that suggests feathers began to evolve much earlier than many researchers believe - maybe even in the earliest dinosaurs. Scientists had previously identified feathers and so-called "dinofuzz" in theropods, two-legged meat-eaters that are widely considered the ancestors of birds.

But the Chinese… Continue

Thank you, Dawn. He's not out of the woods yet, he's got a very serious problem, but he is determined to do what science has to offer and the will to live and "go fishin'" with his son.

I couldn't be more relieved. Even if it all goes south, I can live with the fact that he knows, more than anything after this weekend, that his son and his family love him very much and he seems to be determined to experience that love for a while longer.

Thank you. You were the first to reach out to me.

You're great, Kiddo.

Yes, he is very religious. As is my whole family. I just didn't get the gene. I'm in the closet with my atheism. I can't tell him. It would break his heart.

Mine is breaking now.

My wife has been great. Even though she is religious, she understands that it's just not in me.

Thank you, Dawn. It's good to know I'm not alone.

We just found out that his prostate cancer has jumped to his spine and the spread is "extensive". I leave Thursday to see him while he goes thru a routine bone scan. Then a meeting is being set up by his doctor and specialist to give him the news. Man, this is hard.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm searching for support in this community because my family are devout christians. I'm the only one that didn't see it. Never have. I can't come out, so the isolation is profound.

Thank you and check in from time to time, will you?
