Sorry for the late reply, Ian. I am mobile right now and probably will be for some time. I'll be checking in less frequently for a while until I get settled again. Keep up the good fight eveyone! And Ian, please tell more about Jose Rizal. :)
Hi Dean! Thanks for adding me. Secularization in our country will be a long and tedious process but it's not impossible. All we need here are people who are willing to break with tradition. Jose Rizal already made an example. It's all up to us now Filipino freethinkers, secularists, atheists etc. to fuel the fire that he started.
An atheist American friend of mine that lives in the Phil -- a very big & tough guy with lots of military & martial arts training -- recently wrote to me that it is dangerous to publicaly announce one's atheism there. He added that he has been silent about his atheism for that reason. I wonder how many Filipinos would agree?
It's nice of you to be working for Philippine secularism. That to me is almost impossible, but that's just a feeling. My home country has so much potential if not for rampant mysticism. The country is among the most mystical in the world.

This busy group has fine discussion, good writing, about 100 science video clips including 10 recent Stanford University lectures on evolution. It seeks to understand the mysteries of the universe and how life and everything began.
