Hey there Deborah; Hows everything down there in Kool Ridge?
We here in American Samoa are still surviving.
Slow economy is slowly killing the local comerce.
As long as W.Va. has Coal, it will still be on the map.
Long time, no hear from you.

Hello Debora;
My Father was from Bluefield. He was born in 1901.
I was the youngest of 10 kids, 9 boys, and one girl.
My father was a devout Atheist, while my Mother was a Staunch Fanatic of the first Baptist Church of Delta Pennsylvania. You can well imagine where that put me as far as religion goes.
Forced to "Repent" of sins that I was unaware of comitting at the tender age of eight, I was Baptised in December in a stream with ice on its fringes.
I have recently written, and published a book entitled The Fear of Living which is based on a Near Death Expierence suffered by me in 1995 here in American Samoa. This tells how I went in to the expierence somewhat of a believer, and emerged a total Atheist.
If you are interested, I can send you the details on how to purchase the book.
Your part of the US always intrigued me. My mother was Born and raised in Sugar Grove Virginia.
Go to Google search, type in Doug Harrington of American Samoa. There you will get an Idea of what I am all about.
I would like to invite you as a friend.
Doug Harrington.

I was a bit ambiguous, I told my kids the truth and they figured the rest out for themselves, that's what I call deconversion, it's just the truth.

Welcome to Atheist Nexus. I was also raised as a Christian, married and converted to Baptist, raised three kids as non-denominational fundamentalist christians, saw the light, got a divorce, married my soul mate, and deconverted all my kids. I can die happy now. Well, not right now.
