My parents attempted to raise me as an orthodox Jew. All temple . . . all the time. We celebrated the Sabbath and all its rituals and restrictions. ie: no driving from Fri to Sat, no turning on lights or the oven, big kosher Sabbath meal. . . In addition, I was not allowed to spend time with non Jews of the opposite sex. I am very outspoken in regard to how I feel that I was religiously abused by my parents. My sisters married Rabbis and all live in a Jewish enclave and work in the Yeshiva that their children attend. I am estranged from my family since my mother died in 2004. I am currently writing an autobiography about my upbringing.

Excellent---the news that you are writing an autobiography. Your story, your message, must get sent out round and about. Religion like that IS child abuse. Welcome to this cheerful friendly Internet community of rationality and peace, common sense and freethinking evidence-based wisdom.
