I wish I could help, Glasnost, but I cannot name the sort of books you need. I'd be interested to know myself. Maybe a search using google will help.
The one good source that I have is Barbara Walker's "Woman's Encyclopedia ....". This succeeds because a clever woman has reanalysed what chiefly men have been writing before, and they have biased matters seriously. Why not try asking as an open question on the site of ORIGINS.....?

No doctrines here, no dogma. Atheism is not a religion. It is a position-statement that concludes that the existence of gods has never been proved; and that this is likely an atheistic universe into which storytellers have introduced the concept of gods---initially to explain the origins of the world, life, humans and their problems.
From Terry Meaden (of the group "Origins", with its major discussions and some 90 video segments about origins of life, humans, religion, the rest of the known world and the universe.)
