My thoughts on the 9 Principles and 12 Values

Below are Beck’s Nine Principles he wants you to agree on:1. America is good.Depends on the circumstances. It can be good but it also has the potential to be very very bad. Freedom of speech = good. Trapping civilians in Sadr city before bombing the crap out of it = bad.2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.<----- All thought ends here, I guess.3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. But what if you're already honest? What about circumstances where…See More

Stoners In The Mist found the level on camp involved with this to be quite funny. Then there were some things I didn't find quite so funny:*According to their portrayal a stoned driver drives about the same as a drunk driver. Now I'm not about to hop in a car with a driver that I know to be anything less than sober, but a stoned person is more likely to be going about 20 mph under the speed limit…See More

U.N. Anti-Blasphemy Resolution Via Atheist Media BlogThe fact that these people are pushing so hard to shut the rest of us up, makes me suspect that they know they are in the wrong. Sorry guys if you want to worship a pedophile, brain wash kids into becoming suicide bombers, and treat women like property, I will criticize you and I don't care whether or not it hurts your feelings.See More

Protest Faith-based Offices!

I've been anticipating this for awhile now. It seems that the Pesident plans to keep his promises, but this is one promise we can't afford to let him keep, not without a fight. We need compassion not religion to help the needy. We recieved the following email from the FFRF earlier today. :FFRF ACTION ALERT! URGENT!We Need Your Help! Protest Faith-based Offices!Dear FFRF Member:The White House needs to hears an immediate outcry over last week's announcement that Bush's faith-based initiative…See More

Someone Mentioned The Salvation Army

Posted on December 1, 2009 at 2:57am 2 Comments

I've had it in for the Salvation Army for years now. When I first moved to Seattle I had a job cleaning their head quarters. Cleaning jobs can be degrading at times, not so much from the work itself but the way in which people that have jobs in the same building tend to treat you. The woman in charge of that building made me feel as if I were Cinderella working for my freakin' wicked Step-Mother. Every morning she'd come in after we'd cleaned and if she found a single tissue in the bathroom… Continue

Washington State

Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. I just can't seem to find any local atheist groups that focus on doing charitable work or supporting equality in my community. Another poster pointed out that among the 200 organizations that recently supported Washington Families Standing Together, a group that campaigned to protect domestic partnerships in my state, there wasn't a single organization of non-believers on the… Continue

Day 1 in my US History Class or More Crap we can thank the Christians for...

Posted on September 29, 2009 at 6:30pm 19 Comments

I started my U.S. History class today. I was a bit surprised to see that the first chapter has more of a focus on the Native American-African-European dynamic than I've come across before.

It also touches upon how religion was such a destructive force in Native-European relations. This quote particularly struck me "throughout Europe...freedom meant abandoning the life of sin to embrace the teachings of Christ. 'Where the Spirit of the Lord is,' declares the New Testament, 'there is… Continue

Greetings, Creature! I'd like to invite you to a group where we talk about anything on our minds, Hang With Friends. :D Is your name deliberately ironic, inasmuch as it implies a Creator? BTW, I love cats too.

Isn't that the most surreal/bizarre thing? I hope the creator does more of those.
