"I have always found this "teach the controversy " notion to be utterly ridiculous on non-scientific grounds. We all pretty much agree the evolutionary "science" here is specious and politically motivated garbage. As a trained…"

John Elder commented on Loren Miller's blog post Grover's Corners and Dancing in Hurricanes

"To reply to your comment:"@John Thanks a lot.  This is sort of a different style for me, and I'm glad it had some resonance." I would say that you do have a talent for it. Your piece above is powerfully well written. "

John Elder commented on Loren Miller's blog post Grover's Corners and Dancing in Hurricanes
"Optimist or pessimist, it seems to me the goal is to live in passion, as Loren so beautifully puts it, with eyes wide open and dancing in a hurricane. Win or lose, the beauty is in putting up the good fight. To quote John Prine: "Throw my brain…"

"Yeah. I have a brother in law who used to be an admirable free thinker until a judge and these AA jerks got a grip on him. What a blatant and daily violation of the separation clause."

John Elder replied to Compelledunbeliever's discussion Guns and Christianity
"I couldn't agree more! I'd like to see us enforce the laws we have and place the responsibility on the people especially the religious. I get a catalog from a weapons collector supplier. There are countless fake collectibles in it that…"

John Elder replied to The Flying Atheist's discussion Neil deGrasse Tyson Video
