"I don't agree with Andrew in that the Big Bang Theory was postulated by a priest based on one observation with an anthropocentric POV. (IE we are the center of the universe). Subsequent discoveries (some accidental) were inserted into the big…"

"I just came across something and thought "Why didn't I think of that before?" We are 13.7 billion light-years from the edge of the observable universe....WTF! The big bang theory says the universe is 13.8 billion years old! That would…"

"I'm not convinced. Notice I put "evidence" in quotes. It's all we have are claims. Verifying any of it is difficult at best. Thing is, to make a decision, I need to analyze the claims. I don't just say something isn't…"

"The description of the big bang and the "evidence" is widely spread. I don't know if there are peer reviewed articles examining the evidence. It is, as I said, mostly an acceptation of the original calculations done by a priest using…"

"They voted for trump because they are stupid. His lies were obvious all during the campaign. We thought there's no way an idiotic lying buffoon like that will win the election. But we underestimated the power of stupid people in large numbers"

"Two issues I have been thinking about WRT the big bang. If their description is correct, the whole fabric of space is expanding. That means that the wavelength and speed of light is also expanding. Therefore, ancient light waves should be compressed…"

"The main trouble I have with the background radiation thing is that the big bang theory was already formulated and the radiation was an accidental discovery. They made up the "residual radiation" idea to make another "evidence"…"

Welcome to Atheist Nexus, Jotham, I am happy to see another Newfoundler joining us. With your training in environmental science, perhaps you can help us learn to live with climate change and create a healthy, happy, harmonious society.

I live in the middle of a remaining patch of forest in N.E. Washington State. It was an adjustment, living with all this green, coming from a city where my tiny city lot was a food forest with lots of colors.
