Welcome to the minority!
Actually there are many of us out there, you just have to know where to look. I welcome all homeschoolers to find a way to connect here on my page. As i work out the kinks, I'll figure that one out.
For now, I'm looking for YOU!
I do have a homeschool store too, but that is not why I am here...just thought I'd mention it...LOL.

All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Ever Loving God

One thing I truly struggle with, as an atheist, as a person, as a friend to believers, is that huge gap between what REALLY IS and what believers have to do in order to continue making sense of reality through the eyes of their belief.  They must redefine words and phrases again and again.  They must find a way to hold "free will" and "God's will" together in one hand and figure out how those concepts can adequately explain things.  Believers must repeat, like…

I *will* say "Happy Holidays".

Because I am disrespecting Christmas and Christians?

Absolutely and Resoundingly NO.  It is because I speak very deliberately and I use words and expressions thoughtfully and I choose to include all people I see in my good wishes.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for the comment and the monumental thumb up for my poem.

My son thinks I get a little snarky, too, with some of the things I write but I try to offset it with humor once in a while.

Love Calvin and Hobbes, btw.

Thanks for your comments! I've read to him some other creation stories but he really laughed at and commented most about the Jewish mythological narrative. There is a good kids book about creation myths out there somewhere... Think I should go track it down.

Hello Karen, and welcome to this friendly meeting place with freethinkers who recognise how religions and fictional gods deceive and control vulnerable superstitious people beginning with innocent defenceless children.

How tragic and inexcusable it is too that women and minorities have been oppressed these last two thousand years and longer.

We invite you to join us and 1845 others.
