Admittedly, I have to somewhat agree with Onion's definition of atheism. Perhaps it's because I've been one for 50 years (since about age 20). I'm a "simple-ist": there is no god, period. Arguments for or against are a waste of time. However, I DO promote and support my secular values--have window signs, belong to a couple of "atheist" orgs, and even write letters to the editor. So, I'm not althogethr passive. Oh yes, I even attended the "Reason Rally" in Wash DC exactly a year ago (Mar 24, my birthday!).
