Update to Losing a Friend to Religion

Posted on July 21, 2011 at 5:15pm 0 Comments

Well, it may be worse than just losing a friend to religion.  We may have lost her to drugs.  It all adds up now.  Why she would sell everything in her house that wasn't nailed down, why she has isolated herself from her friends and family, why she won't allow her family into her house after they flew from California to check on her, why she hasn't been at work and why she has blisters on her face.  I guess the annointed one blessed her with a drug habit.  It's not proven yet, but all the… Continue

My husband wants my child to say grace.

My husband, son and I went out to eat dinner on Friday night and when the food arrived, my husband wanted my son to say grace and he wanted me to bow my head and along with it.  I want to teach my son to be grateful for things, but somehow I don't feel right teaching him to thank a nonexistent supernatural being for food that his daddy and I worked hard for.  My husband knows that I am an atheist and he's okay with it, but he holds on to his faith and wants to raise my son that way.  We don't… Continue

I'm no expert, but I think forums are like discussions which involve the whole population at AN. Isn't a blog written by an individual blogger? Blogs are like personal opinions, I guess. One person has the talk baton. In forums the talk baton passes around to anyone who posts. *shrug*

Glad to see another DFW local. I just signed up a couple of weeks ago and live in Arlington.  Nice to see another 'neighbor' on the site.
