Fall 2011 Series Impressions - UN-GO

Posted on October 16, 2011 at 2:39pm 0 Comments

Un-Go is one of the series I've picked up for Fall 2011. The first episode is out and it's time for a little feedback.

Un-Go is in the detective anime classification right now (see: Dantalian no Shoka, Gosick, etc.) and in the first episode we find ourselves in a murder mystery at an elaborate period ball. Rumors abound that the victim, Kaoru Kanou, was about to be arrested. Who wanted him silenced?

The challenge to solve the mystery falls to two competing parties -…

Ket's Weekly(ish) Anime Recommendation!™ (Ergo Proxy)

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 6:59pm 1 Comment

Since the Fall 2011 anime season is just kicking off, it's a bit hard to make a recommendation from what I'm watching currently. So, we'll take a look back at some older series.

This week, I'd like to recommend Ergo Proxy to those of you who have yet to see it. Unfortunately it seems like it's been pulled from Hulu, but this -is- the internet and I'm sure you're all familiar with how Google works by now. If not,…

Persona 4: The Animation (Kyu's Review!™)

Posted on October 6, 2011 at 9:00pm 0 Comments

(Warning: Potential spoilers)

I'll hand it to AIC. Taking on anything as complicated as an SMT game is ambitious. I was really excited to hear that P4 was getting an anime and wanted nothing but the best from it. Now, my fangirlish glee has been tempered by actually watching the first episode.

Quick synopsis of the game/anime for those not familiar with it:

The protagonist (renamed Yu in the anime) moves from Tokyo to a small town called Inaba, where he…

Ket's Weekly(ish) Anime Recommendation!™

Posted on October 5, 2011 at 9:53pm 3 Comments

It's that time again!

This week's recommendation won't take much time out of your busy week! In fact, it has just six 15 minute episodes, making for an about-as-much-time-as-your-standard-movie experience.

Androids have become commonplace in society, and are held to Asimov's Laws. All androids are identified by rings above their heads. While checking the household android's location records, a teenage student notices an anomaly. A message reading, simply "Are you enjoying…

Yeah, I've been there.  I make heavy use of Red Bull and similar, on 12+ hour cross-country trips.  Once your face starts going numb, it's time to stop and let your body flush the stuff out of your system.

Surreal can be good, when writing.  You just have to go everything afterward and see what still makes sense, after you're off of the mind-altering substances.

Holy crap.  ^.^

What are you using to plug the hole that goes straight through your abdomen?

Heh.  You may want to check and make sure kitty hasn't started spiking her coffee with something more potent.  I'm quite well aware of how caffeine starts losing its effect, after a few months of daily abuse.  :-D  You could call it personal experience.

Cool.  Definitely an interesting icon for you.  So, what kind of substances did someone have to feed that poor kitty to make him do that?  :-D

Heh, wow.  I don't know whether to say that kitty is cute or disturbing.  ^.^
