Kudos on your use of USAmericans. Many other languages of the world have long stopped "american" to designate people from the USA, as it's quite inappropriate to hog a word for which all citizens of the Americas have claim to, from Chile to Canada. English is a descriptive language not a prescriptive one, and so for change to happen it must come from the people. Myself I write USers, tongue in cheek, because the USA 'uses' so much resource from the rest of the world (human and nature). Latin languages say something equivalent Estado-unidense and États-Uniens. Kudos to you
